We are now in our fourth year of operating the highly successful High Performance HUBS. The 8 regional High Performance HUBS are based geographically throughout Wales, which allow for accessibility throughout our country, to players and workforce, who will shape the future success of Welsh Netball; catering for ages 13-16yrs (Development HUB) and 16-21yrs (Performance HUB).
Pathway 2013-2018
The HUBS are the first step of progressing into the Welsh Netball’s High Performance Pathway. Each of the HUB’s will train once a month where the coaches will follow a training programme designed specifically by the Welsh Netball High Performance Head Coach, Melissa Hyndman. At the end of each season a centralised HUB tournament is held to identify players to be invited to trial for the wales U15/U17/U19/U21 squads for the following season.
Local Authority HUBS, which are being piloted in some areas across Wales, will allow younger players to be involved in the pathway developing Netball in accordance with the Player Skills Curriculum. The vision of 22 Local Authority Hubs across Wales by 2018 feeding into our 8 established High Performance Hubs. Over the next 5 years these players will be identified across Welsh Regional Events. The Players and Management listed below are currently involved in the High Performance HUBS for the 2013/14 season. Congratulations.
