U14 and U17 National Clubs
The 2007 U14 and U17 National Clubs attracted Welsh Netballs largest entry to date with 18 U14 teams and 16 U17 teams from across Wales. This representation at the nationals is excellent and shows what great work is happening with grassroots Netball in Wales.
The competition was very exciting and enjoyed by players, coaches, officials and volunteers alike. Teams played there socks off in the rounds aiming for one of the 4 semi final places.
U14 Semi Finals drew a northern tie between Mold and Deeside and then an M4 corridor league clash between Penybont Dragons and Mumbles Treforus. After 12 minutes of action Mold and Mumbles Treforus took to the court for the final. Following exceptional play in their rounds and finals Mold U14’s emerged as the 2007 U14 National Clubs Champions.
U17 Semi Finals couldn’t have been more exciting with Maesteg and Deeside holding each other to a draw at the end of time. Extra time was played and Deeside had the extra edge winning the semi 12-10. Mold U17’s unfortunately were unable to add to the U14’s success and were knocked out by Treharris. The final between Deeside and Treharris resulted in a convincing win for Treharris, final score 9-4.
