Colwyn Rangers 9 - 21 Prestatyn Pumas
An under strength Pumas continued their unbeaten run with a convincing win over the team one place below them in the league. With Phillipa Ashcroft and Ellen Barlow unavailable Chris Winn's team had to dig deep to overcome a determined Colwyn team.
In a fast moving first quarter, Pumas showed great movement and penetration to lead 7-2. Rangers came back early in the second quarter but Pumas held firm and increased the lead with Amy Stamford and Player of the match, Maddy Cotgreave inspirational in the attack.
An early 3rd quarter injury to Sara Jones failed to slow Pumas progress and Shaun Golding proved what a versatile player she is with 3 goals from goal attack. The defensive work of Catherine Lynch,Olivia Hands and Georgia Bates left the Rangers frustrated whist Stamford and Jones took advantage of Pumas excellent inter- passing to ensure that next weeks showdown with table topping Sprinters could prove an early guide to the outcome of the league title.
