WELSH NETBALL APPOINTS NEW
NATIONAL PERFORMANCE DIRECTOR AND NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

National Performance Director

Welsh Netball has appointed Iain Root to the post of National Performance Director. Iain has previously held the post of Director of Netball for England Netball and was responsible for the management of the Game Directorate Structure. Prior to this, he held senior posts in local Government. In addition, he has coached the England Netball Mens National Squad.

Iain brings a wealth of management and coaching experience to the post and will be responsible for providing strategic direction and management of the performance area of the Welsh Netball Strategic Plan.

National Development Manager

Ursula Bowers has been appointed to the post of National Development Manager. Ursula has previously been employed in sales and marketing within the pharmaceutical industry and has also spent 12 months working for the Canterbury Netball Association, New Zealand on the implementation of development strategies and young player development.

Ursula is currently captain of the Welsh Senior Squad. She brings her business skills, experience and knowledge of the game to this post and will be responsible for providing strategic direction and management of the development area of the Welsh Netball Strategic Plan.

Both posts will commence at the beginning of April
