The U14 U16 U18 Inter Area is always the championship that has the largest support of area associations and spectators and this year was certainly no exception. Cwmbran Stadium was overflowing with Netballers and the atmosphere was both competitive and friendly.
84 matches were played over the course of the weekend with players taking to the courts to achieve personal and team goals of being the very best. The Welsh Netball Selectors were kept busy, Ursula Bowers National Development Manager and Captain of Wales said, “We were suitably impressed with the level of ability across all age groups and we are very excited for the future of Welsh Netball with this young talent”.
As with all competitions there could only be one winner. Congratulations first of all go to all players that participated in the event, it is a great achievement to be selected to play for your area and you should all be very proud. The 2007 Inter Area Champions are

U18 Inter Area Championships
Bangor University
25th & 26th March 2006
Hosted by Eryri Schools Association
All areas made their journey to Bangor University for what was to be our BEST national championship to date. The “behind the scenes” organisation by Eryri Schools Association created a fantastic basis for this very successful event. The teams had their stage set all they need to do was perform and didn’t they just!
The U18 championship had fantastic displays of skill and agility with all areas competing at a high level. Matches were hotly contended giving the Welsh Netball selectors plenty to observe. Two teams were holding an unbeaten record and the championship was to be decided on the final fixture of the event. The crunch match between South East and West Wales was watched by a full hall. The girls took the court with one goal in mind and it was to be South East Wales’ day with a 13-11 victory.

making the weekend a success. We would also like to extend our thanks
to the supporters that followed the teams to the event - we appreciate
your commitment to Netball in Wales.
The standard of performance
at this year’s championship was impressive to all who had the pleasure
of watching. The Future of Welsh Netball is bright and all players who
took part should be proud of their achievement of area representation.
