U14 Inter Area Championships

Bangor University
25th & 26th March 2006
Hosted by Eryri Schools Association

All areas made their journey to Bangor University for what was to be our BEST national championship to date. The behind the scenes organisation by Eryri Schools Association created a fantastic basis for this very successful event. The teams had their stage set all they need to do was perform and didn’t they just!

An outstanding level of play was witnessed in the U14 age group with a closely fought championship. Four teams (North East, Eryri, Glamorgan Valleys and Cardiff & the Vale) were in the running for the title after the second match of day two … all was to play for! The girls had all the spectators engrossed in their games impressing them with their talent every time they took the court. North East Wales just edged out Glamorgan Valleys to win the championship on goal average.

First – N E Wales
Second – Glamorgan Valleys
Third – Eryri

Our sport would not function without the continual support of our dedicated volunteers. Welsh Netball would like to thank the umpires, coaches, team managers and the team of volunteers from Eryri Schools Association for making the weekend a success. We would also like to extend our thanks to the supporters that followed the teams to the event - we appreciate your commitment to Netball in Wales.

The standard of performance at this year’s championship was impressive to all who had the pleasure of watching. The Future of Welsh Netball is bright and all players who took part should be proud of their achievement of area representation.
